Quantum Mechanics
Quantum mechanics has been the source of some of the most amazing revelations in science. It's without a doubt one of the most exciting fields in physics today.
Quantum mechanics as a framework was put together in the in the early 20th century. The term quanta simply means an indivisible amount of energy. Quantum mechanics is used to explain that which phenomina that takes place at the atomic level and smaller. When the study of the atom revealed that the atom consists of a nucleus of protons and neutrons with orbiting electrons, it became clear that the the orbit of the electron could not be explained with newtons laws of motion, without the electrons spiralling into the nucleus.
Quantum mechanics is a tool that we use to explain the following phenomina.
